Martin Sheridan violins are patterned after those of Antonio Stradivari and Guarneri del Gesu. Sheridan says, "Antonio Stradivari is the most well known violin maker of all time, and his violins are unsurpassed in their execution. However, I was fortunate enough to attend the exhibit in New York on the work of Guarneri del Gesu, and it completely changed my outlook on making. Guarneri del Gesu worked like a sculptor. I think his violins are very deliberate in form and harmony, and they are unsurpassed in their physical and tonal beauty".
Some owners of Martin Sheridan violins have included: Suzanne Jackson, Jana Jae, Arthur Sundermeier, and Gabriel Dzeib.

And here are a couple of pictures of a violin now under construction by Sheridan; a copy of the Guarneri del Gesu known as the Baltic. The back wood is a slab cut piece of maple from a tree felled iin Kentucky around 1870.
